At R4 Gaskets, we specialise in high-quality gaskets, gasket materials, and bespoke CNC conversion. For years, our parent company, The Rubber Company, has been a leader the industry with our premium offerings.
Klinger® gasket materials are our top choice for compressed fibre and asbestos replacement gaskets. Developed in 1886, Klinger® materials are known for their quality and reliability, suitable for a wide range of applications and environments. Many of these grades comply with BS7531 standards and are widely used in industries such as aerospace, chemical, petrochemical, power generation, oil, and gas. Their versatile properties make them ideal for nearly any sealing application.
Our CNC profile cutting facilities enable us to convert all sheeting materials into standard flange gaskets, bespoke washers and seals, or custom shapes and profiles to your specifications.

Meets the requirements of BS 7531 Grade Y, WRAS approved for use with potable water.
KLINGERsil C-4400
High-grade material manufactured from aramid fibres with a nitrile rubber (NBR) binder commonly used in the automotive and aerospace industries. Meets the requirements of BS 7531 Grade Y and has TA-Luft (Clean Air) approval.
Also available with reinforcements:
KLINGERsil C-4408 with mild steel mesh
KLINGERsil C-4409 with expanded mild steel
KLINGERsil C-4430
Premium grade compressed fibre material manufactured from synthetic fibres and glass fibre with a nitrile rubber (NBR) binder. Exceptional compressive strength, good chemical and temperature resistance in steam and water. Excellent resistance to oils and hydrocarbons. Often used in the aerospace industry. Meets the requirements of BS 7531 Grade X, and is WRAS approved for use with potable water and fire-safe. TA-Luft (Clean Air) approval.
Also available with reinforcements:
KLINGERsil C-4438 with mild steel mesh
KLINGERsil C-4439 with expanded mild steel
KLINGERsil C-4500
Premium grade material based on carbon fibre with a nitrile rubber (NBR) binder designed for use with higher temperatures and pressures than the majority of calendared materials. The use of carbon fibres increases resistance to temperature related ageing and to attack when used in alkaline services. Good resistance to steam and alkaline conditions, oils, fuels and hydrocarbons. Meets the requirements of BS 7531 Grade X, fire-safe with TA-Luft (Clean Air) approval.
Also available with reinforcements:
KLINGERsil C-4509 with expanded mild steel
KLINGERsil C-8200
A compressed fibre material specifically designed to be used in aggressive chemical environments. The blend of fibres are combined with an acid resistant binder, generating resistances to most mineral acids, alkalis, ketones, aldehydes and refrigerants. An economical alternative to PTFE based materials in applications that are less aggressive. TA-Luft (Clean Air) approval.
KLINGER Quantum
Specifically designed material for use at higher temperatures than other compressed fibre material. It has a hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) binder which allows for exceptional chemical resistance and greatly improved temperature resistance. It maintains its flexibility even after continued use at elevated temperatures. Fire-safe to API 607 and TA-Luft (Clean Air) approved.
KLINGER Statite Gasket Paper
An cellulose fibre based jointing material impregnated with an adhesive/glycerine composition for low bolt load applications. Excellent oil and fuel resistance, commonly used in the automotive industry.
KLINGER Top-Graph 2000
A combination of expanded graphite and synthetic fibres creating a revolutionary sealing material with outstanding flexibility and excellent resistance to steam, oils, fuels and hydrocarbons. Anti-stick surface on both sides. TA-Luft (Clean Air) approval.
KLINGER Top-Sil-ML1
A unique multi-layer material combining synthetic fibres with HNBR and NBR for improved flexibility at higher temperatures. Good resistance to steam, hot water, oils and hydrocarbons. WRAS approved for use with potable water and fire-safe to API 607. TA-Luft (Clean Air) approval.
KLINGER Graphite SLS/AS
Pure exfoliated graphite with a stainless steel foil insert for improved handling and load-bearing. The excellent conformability of graphite means the material is suitable for applications where bolt load is limited or flanges are damaged. Excellent resistant to steam with outstanding resistance to high and low temperatures. Finished with an anti-stick surface on both sides, they are easy to cut with an unlimited storage life. Fire safe to ISO 10497.
KLINGER Graphite PSM/AS
Made from pure exfoliated graphite with the inclusion of a mechanically fixed tanged stainless steel insert. The insert improves blow-out resistance and ease of handling. Due to the excellent chemical and thermal properties of graphite, it is used extensively in the chemical and petrochemical industries. Finished with an anti-stick surface on both sides to aid removal from the flange even after use at elevated temperatures. WRAS approved and fire-safe to API 6FB.
KLINGER Top-Chem 2000
A heavy-duty modified PTFE material manufactured with the addition of silicon carbide to improve the mechanical properties of the PTFE base material. It has an increased compressive strength and resistance to creep with excellent chemical resistance. Suitable for food, pharmaceutical and chemically aggressive applications. Fire-safe to API 6FA and ISO 10497 with TA-Luft (Clean Air) approval.
KLINGER Top-Chem 2003
A modified PTFE material designed for use in low bolt load applications. Glass microspheres aid the compressibility and general mechanical strength without affecting its chemical resistance. Can be used with glass-lined flanges. Suitable for food and pharmaceutical applications with FDA approval. TA-Luft (Clean Air) approval.
KLINGER Top-Chem 2005
Modified PTFE material optimised for use in acidic applications. The addition of glass improves the mechanical properties of PTFE and increases the operational range. Suitable for a wide range of applications with the exception of strong alkaline conditions. Good mechanical properties at low to medium temperatures. Economical alternative to Top-Chem 2000. TA-Luft (Clean air) approved.
KLINGER Top-Chem 2006
Modified PTFE optimised for use in alkaline applications with excellent chemical resistance and good mechanical properties at low to medium temperatures.
