Recently, in collaboration with our parent company, The Rubber Company, we partnered with an innovative aeroponics company to create bespoke rubber flaps tailored for their cutting-edge nozzle aeroponics system.

The client, a forward-thinking aeroponics company, comprises a multidisciplinary team of growers, engineers, plant scientists, software developers, and business experts. Focused on food and environmental sustainability, they specialise in designing aeroponic technology and farm management software for indoor and vertical farming. Their solutions reduce the environmental footprint of agriculture while streamlining farm operations.

The Project: Custom Substrate Flaps for Aeroponics

The client required 25 substrate flaps and 7 substrate plate ‘H’ flaps, each designed to address specific needs within their system:

• Substrate Plate Flaps
  These flaps were engineered to cover 130mm x 130mm square holes in a metal plate. Their primary function is to prevent water from the nozzles from spraying outside the system. Each flap is bolted on one side for stability, while the other side remains movable, enabling easy access for nozzle inspection or replacement.
• ‘H’ Flaps
  The ‘H’ flaps bridge gaps between two metal plates, ensuring that no water escapes through these openings.

Precision Manufacturing with CNC Knife Cutting

Using our advanced digital CNC knife cutting machine, we manufactured these components to exact specifications, ensuring a precise fit and reliable performance.
